Printing Rx, dispensing and dispatch labels

How to print prescriptions and labels, including in bulk and for couriers.

Printing the Rx page

Open the prescription and print the Rx page for dispensing.

Dispensing labels

Print dispensing labels from the dispensing view. If you previously used Salesforce labels, MediStack replaces that process.

Dispatch labels (DPD / Royal Mail)

Print courier dispatch labels for the relevant carrier from the order.

Bulk printing

You can bulk-print dispatch labels for multiple orders at once.

When a dispatch label won't load or print

A dispatch label can only fail to display if StarShipIt or the carrier has rejected it — for example where the courier will not accept the delivery address. This applies whether the message shown is "An error occurred loading the document." or a message saying the delivery address was rejected by the shipping provider, and whether one order or many are affected.

Because the rejection happens on the StarShipIt or carrier side, these are resolved by logging in to StarShipIt directly:

  • Open the affected order in StarShipIt and print the label there.

  • If it still won't print, correct the delivery address in StarShipIt and print again.

  • If several or all labels are failing, check StarShipIt for the rejection reason it reports against the orders — the same rule applies, the labels have to be resolved from that side.

If the label still won't come through after that, contact [email protected] with the order number and the message StarShipIt reports.

If a label type or carrier isn't available, contact [email protected].

Intermittent DPD label errors — retry rather than wait

Dispatch label errors that come and go, and that affect DPD labels in particular, are errors returned by StarShipIt rather than something in MediStack. An order that fails one moment will often generate its label normally a short time later.

What to do:

  • Keep working the dispatch run — do not hold the whole queue back.

  • When a label fails, retry generating it rather than waiting for support to intervene each time.

  • Note the order numbers that keep failing and send them to [email protected], so the detail can be passed to StarShipIt for investigation.

Because these errors originate with StarShipIt, StarShipIt is the party that investigates and resolves them; MediStack collects the affected order numbers and the reported errors to pass on. Orders on the other carrier are normally unaffected and can continue as usual. Manually shipping every order in StarShipIt is not a practical workaround at volume, which is why retrying in MediStack is the recommended route.
